I need one that connect to Samsung Galaxy 6 to gather photos. The thumb drive would be able t0 connect to macbook pro & download them.

This is not the one that can do that. What you need is USB flash drive that has on one side connection to micro USB port and on other side regular USB type A receptacle – these type of Flash drives are usually referred to as OTG (On-The-Go) drives. I would recommend for you the flash drive that has 16 times more storage than this one and it does exactly what you need at much higher speed – SEE HERE
