There are some changes underway to the SanDisk Ultra microSD lineup which could impact you in 2023. I’ll review these changes below so that we can prepare for them together.
SanDisk Ultra series microSD cards are the low-cost workhorse in a wide range of applications. Unfortunately, SanDisk Ultra is a consumer retail-oriented series which doesn’t always make it a perfect match for users looking for BOM stability and long-term availability.
There are product links below which you can click on to view the products. These are retail prices, so if you are a volume customer and usually get your pricing from me please contact me for your updated information.
16GB SDSQUAR-016G Is Nearing EOL
Awhile back the SDSQUAR models in 32GB and larger capacities were replaced by SDSQUA4. The SDSQUAR 16GB stayed around but will be dropped eventually. SDSQUAR-016G-GN6MN is still available, but we don’t know for how long. SDSQUAR-016G-GN6MA (the one which includes an adapter in the package) is gone now, but we can sell the adapter to you separately if you need it. There is no 16GB replacement. Eventually 64GB will be the smallest capacity microSD card made by SanDisk.
The SDSQUA4 series is replaced by SDSQUAB and SDSQUAC
SDSDQUAB is being used to designate the new 140MB/s cards being released in 64GB and 128GB capacities, and SDSQUAC is the model name for the 150MB/s cards being released in capacities from 256GB to 1TB. Here is a handy table with links for the old and new models.

I am here to answer your questions and arrange delivery of the new models for your testing and certification. I’ll also do my best to keep you supplied with the older models as long as they are still available. If you can provide me with forecasts this helps a lot and in some cases we may be able to allocate stock to your project.
Please contact me at your convenience so we can navigate these changes together. I look forward to hearing from you soon. Until then, take care.
