GoPro fans are lining up for the latest GoPro camera, the HERO13 Black. As with older HERO models such as 2023’s HERO12, the HERO13 Black uses a microSD card for file storage. If you have a GoPro or other outdoor adventure camera there are a few things to watch for when selecting a card.
What are the best microSD cards for the GoPro HERO13 Black?
Due to the HERO13’s impressive processing speed, GoPro recommends a fast microSDXC card with at least a v30 and Class A2 rating. Slower knock-off or budget cards may cause a noticeable “lag” in any high-def recording, so go with the faster brand-name cards. Fast write speeds are crucial!
Also consider how many hours of 4K video you’ll be recording. Capacity makes a BIG difference! A 32GB card will only store about 45 minutes of 4K (60fps) video, while a 128GB card can store over 3 hours of 4K video. Make sure you don’t run out of storage while you’re recording your latest outdoor (or underwater) adventure!
OEMPCWORLD staffers have many years of experience with flash memory products. We recommend these microSD cards for your GoPro camera:
SanDisk Extreme (128GB, 256GB, 512GB and 1TB sizes)
Samsung Pro Ultimate (512GB, 256GB, and 128GB sizes)
SanDisk Extreme Pro (128GB, 256GB, 512GB and 1TB sizes)
Samsung EVO Plus (512GB and 1TB sizes)
When you purchase a microSD card, make sure you also get an SD card adapter! With the exception of the SanDisk Extreme card, all of our recommendations above include an adapter or card reader. This will make it easy to transfer your photos and videos to your PC or laptop. (SD adapters are available separately.)
